We can never get enough of ROME! We will explore the city center by foot and experience the historical must see areas like The Coliseum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, The Forum and others.
We will have guided tours of both The Vatican and Sistine Chapel. On this trip we will stay in and explore the Northern most portion of LeMarche, one of the few untouched and unspoiled areas left in Italy! Urbino, Pesaro, Fano, the coast and the mountains will be touched among the world class wine regions and unique foods that LeMarche has to offer!
From here we will move to the enticing city of Bologna, The Food Capital of Italy. We will walk the streets and alleyways of Bologna on a professionally guided food tour so we can experience the local's favorite trattorias and bars. This portion of the trip may include a visit to an Acetaia (traditional balsamic vinegar cellar), a Parmigiana-Reggiano cheese producer, a typical Prosciutteria to experience the finest in cured meats, and taste the local Lambrusco wines.
Next Stop: The lovely, quaint and romantic hilltop town of Orvieto! We will spend 2-3 days in the center of this small medieval city that is perched on a rock cliff located in the central region of Umbria. The Duomo of Orvieto which dominates the main square, has one of the most beautiful facades we have ever seen and dates back to 1290. Orvieto is one of the most striking, memorable, and enjoyable hill towns in all of Italy!
